Here it is! We finally have our official
pfranc.com logo. Naturally, it had to be purple! Technically speaking, this
purple is
or in HTML notation, #993366 (so
you can match text and other colors in your web pages if you wish).
You can download all files below
by clicking on the appropriate link. If this action opens the file instead of
initiating a download, just clik the link with the right mouse button, and select
"Save target as...".
International versions (pfranc.xx)
will also be made, but only according to actual needs. On the international
page, you will find a sample of each existing logo. If you need any of these
logos in a particular size or format, just ask for it.
1.
Bitmaps (Portable Network Graphics, PNG)
There are 2 kinds of bitmaps available
from this page, both in .PNG format. PNG produces very small files,
compatible with most applications and directly usable on web pages. And unlike
JPG, the compression is loss-less.
To avoid degrading the quality, these
bitmaps should not be rescaled. If you need a size which is not available here,
just let me know, and I'll make it from the original
drawing.
- 85 dpi bitmaps are mostly designed
for web pages. 85 dpi is the approximate resolution of computer screens. According
to settings and screen size, actual resolution may differ. So will the actual
size of the logo: the only "physical" parameter is the size given
in pixels.
For best rendering despite of the low resolution, these files make use of
antialiasing, a kind of edge smoothing obtained by filling the holes
in jagged lines with lighter-colored pixels. Therefore, a 256-gray scale (or
purple scale) is used.
- 300 dpi bitmaps are more suited
for printing, although you will get significantly better results using the
vector (WMF) version for all applications that support it.
The palette of these files has only 2 colors - black (or purple) and white.
Antialiasing is therefore not possible, but wouldn't be useful anyway, thanks
to the higher resolution.
The background of all bitmaps is
solid white (no transparent color). Transparency is possible, but requires special
attention. If you're interested, please contact

Vector files (Windows Metafiles, WMF)
These are the files you should be
using for all printing applications. WMF is the native format for vector graphics
in Windows, so it can be imported directly in most Windows applications (like
Word, Excel, Access, ...). Because they consist of a simple mathematical description
of the curve shape, they can be resized to any size you wish (larger or smaller)
without loss of quality. And your printer will be used at its highest resolution,
instead of being limited to 300 dpi.
Each logo is offered in 2 versions.
It is our experience that, when the size is smaller than about 4 cm (1.5"),
the version with a solid ellipse is preferrable, because the outline can not
be resolved properly. But the situation will largely depend on your printer's
capabilities, so feel free to experiment and see which is best for you.
ATTENTION: when you paste one of
these files in a Word document, a very crude bitmap will be displayed on screen.
Don't be worried: this is just a preview, the printout will be considerably
better.

all needed information (size, resolution, color, format, ...) and you'll receive
it by mail as soon as possible. All custom logos are postcard-ware! You're welcome
